I don’t know why and I can’t say how this is so, but there's one
thing I have discovered: when I’m discouraged and worried, prayer always
seems to help.
Here’s an old prayer that has brought me great comfort, time
and time again. It’s a prayer by St. Teresa de Avila. I find it helps me
immeasurably to meditate slowly on the simple truth of this short prayer. I
invite you to do the same.
Let nothing disturb
you,
nothing affright you;
all things are passing—
God never changes.
Patient endurance
attains to all things.
Whom God possesses in
nothing is wanting;
alone God suffices.
Amen.
