As long as I have breath
I will declare the praises
of the God who breathes
life into every creature
both strong and weak.
As long as I have hands
I will hold them open in invitation
to join with another in friendship
to console the grieving
to work with the weary
to write of breath
hope
joy
and lasting peace.
As long as I have eyes
I will try to see you
the way God sees each one:
loved and noticed.
As long as I have legs
I will try to walk grace-full.
If you’re far away and you call
I will run
All this I can do with small seeds:
knees that kneel in prayer
and a heart that
never stops believing.
